ABOUT US
In 2020, the association speak4theneedy was barely an idea that took one full year to become mature. By november 2020, we attempted to create a site to see what and how this idea could work in real life, but it was only at the second half of 2021 that it actually took its real form. With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, a group of young cameroonians living abroad saw the need to bring their support to those families that were going through hard times like; young girls staying at home because their parents couldn't affort to pay their school fees, many girls becoming single mothers due to lack of sexual education, an increase in unemployment and poverty and other financial difficulties, the high number of people dying because they couldn't have access to medication, especially those with diseases like diabeties, thyroidities, high blood pressure, sickle-cell anemia etc. Our main objective in this mission is to become an effective reference with regard to education for the girl child, support for single mothers, and the health of elderly women with families in vulnerable situations.
Our main target falls on elderly women, because we consider the hard wor african women are bound to everyday in their lives. They pay less attention to their bodies which makes them to go through several diseases at their old age. Medication being expensive to most of them, some do not even see a doctor abanding their faith to destiny. This was heart breaking motive that pushed us to direct our attention to them.
Our next target are single mothers. It is known worldwide how difficult it is to take care of a child alone and if we want a better future, we need to make sure this group of people know they are not alone in their fight. In Cameroon, most of the time, boys/men "runaway" after receiving the message of the arrival of a future baby. The girl/woman then starts fighting alone to make sure that baby may bcome to life and grow healthy.
To avoid the above results, we embrace the mission of educating all young girls. We believe that educating a girl child is educating the world and might help bring up responsible boys and men in the cameroonian society.
